Cynthia Louise Burgett

Cynthia Louise Burgett passed into Glory peacefully on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at Edison Manor in New Castle, Pennsylvania. She was born in Oberlin, Ohio to Patricia and Jack Burgett on December 19, 1954 as one of eight children. Her childhood years were spent in Oberlin where she enjoyed many fun times with her siblings, neighbors and friends. She graduated from Oberlin High School in 1973, and worked briefly at Allen Memorial Hospital before relocating to the Pittsburgh area.

Cynthia remained in the Pittsburgh area for the remainder of her life, and enjoyed her relationships with family and friends. She was a Christian and enjoyed exploring and developing her relationship with Jesus through worship, personal study and prayer. Her faith was the foundation of her life and enhanced her relationships with family, friends and the many staff members/friends at Edison Manor. She enjoyed being around people, times spent with children, writing poetry, reading, movies, music, word search games, sending letters and cards, coloring pictures and all holidays and celebrations. She will be missed and remembered always as a loving sister, friend and fun-loving and creative person with a wonderful child-like spirit.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Dawn Lebanik, Steve Burgett, Amy Webber and David Burgett. She is survived by her siblings John Burgett (Ruth) of East Lansing, Michigan, Candy Martin (Ron) of Little Elm, Texas and Marjorie (Richard) Lisle of Grafton, Ohio as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Rose Simplicity Cremation and Funeral Center in Mercer, Pennsylvania. At Cynthia’s request, her final resting place will be in Oberlin, Ohio near her parents during a private burial ceremony.
