Linda Jo Brice

Linda Jo Brice, age 79, of Greenville, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2026, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

She was born in Brookville, PA on October 25, 1946, the daughter of Wallace and Kathryn (Uplinger) Shaffer.

She was a graduate of Kittanning High School and was then employed as a switch board operator for many years at UPMC Horizon in Greenville.

On May 17, 2023, Linda married Homer “Bud” Brice, he passed away on December 31, 2025.

Linda’s greatest joy came from the time she spent with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by a daughter, Sherri Bobbitt of Greenville; a son Scott Hooks ( Kathy Hartz) of Bradenton FL; 11 grandchildren, Abby Fisher (Jayd), Alycia Hooks (Matt Totef), Dennis Billbell, Jessica McCallister, Brandon Hooks, Matthew Dorfi, Tamra Dorfi, Cassaundra Hooks, Douglas Hooks, Maranda Hooks, Rebecca Hooks; 12 great-grandchildren, Jaydan, Xena, Roman, Kayden, Wyatt, Owen, Grayson, Ryleigh, Peyton, Preston, Carson, Madelyn; two brothers, Chuck, George; four sisters, Wanda, Carla, Carol, Cheryl; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose Simplicity Cremation & Funeral Center, Inc., 200 S. Erie Street, Mercer, PA 16137.
