Donald Paul Reitmeyer, 86 of Springfield Twp, Mercer, passed away on October 12, 2022 at home surrounded by his family. Donald was born in Pittsburgh on September 7, 1936 to the late Frederick and Mary (Bleightner) Reitmeyer. He was raised in the Catholic faith attending St. Barbara Roman Catholic Church in Bridgeville.
Donald proudly served his Country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict on the USS Lexington in the Sea of Japan. He was a very active member of the Stanley Snyder VFW Post 7465, Volant where he was a past officer.
Donald enjoyed spending time outside exploring nature, going hunting, and loved animals. He also enjoyed going to the casino any chance he could and playing cards. In his earlier years Donald also enjoyed golfing. He was also an avid Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers, and Penguins Fan
Donald married his beloved wife Geraldine Mae (Supan) Reitmeyer on September 24, 1960, she survives at home. Also surviving are his daughters; Debra (Thomas) Wimer of Volant, Kimberly (Michael) Farrell of Mercer, and Dawn (Brian) Guy of Volant, grandchildren; Danielle Wimer, Adam Wimer, Michael Farrell, Justin Guy, and Nathan Guy, siblings; John, Cecelia, Jeanie, and Richard, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his siblings; Frederick, Rosemary, Margie, and Diane.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose Simplicity Cremation & Funeral Center, Inc. 200 S. Erie Street, Mercer.
A memorial service for Donald will be announced at a later date.
